Guest curated by artists James Lemon and Bobby Corica, Everyone's Heard of a Dragon explores the profound impact of fantasy and material practice as tools for navigating lived experience. This charged realm—where the truths of our immediate reality meet the expansive possibilities of the imagined—shapes our surroundings, offering solace and imbuing the world with meaning.

Materiality is at the heart of this exploration. It demands immersion and meticulous care, serving as a bridge between what has been, what is, and what is yet to come. In this spirit, the exhibition invites artists, designers, and craftspeople to reflect on how our obsessions with making can affirm and expand personal and collective mythologies.

Among them, Maia Kreisler’s pit-fired ceramic works—delicately painted with silver—stand as luminous vessels of transformation. Each piece bears the raw traces of earth and flame, overlaid with precious metal to conjure a sense of ancient ritual and otherworldly presence. Her practice embodies the dual forces of destruction and embellishment, grounding the fantastical in the elemental.

What joys can we toil, passing threads between our fingers or simply bringing a vessel to the lip to sip? Everyone's Heard of a Dragon asks not only what we make, but why we are compelled to make it.

To paraphrase Ursula K. Le Guin: If imagination is the instrument of ethics, what forms shall our melodies take?
